Object Name:
Alaska Klondike Buggy
This Klondike Carriage came from Alaska. It was used in the 1996 January Statehood Centennial parade. The original parade had a Police wagon and this looked like it so the Centennial Commission requested it for the parade.

This Klondike Buggy was used to transport people in the wilds of Alaska. It has a rear door with bench seat on the sides. The front seats had doors on the sides to gain access. The Buggy is enclosed to keep the passengers protected from the cold weather. There is a small opening in the front for the lines to pass from the driver to the team.
