Object Name:
Willett Delivery Wagon
This wagon was purchased from Bill Swendsen in Florence Montana in the Fall of 2011. Bill brought the wagon to Missoula Montana area from Chicago over 20 years ago. This wagon was used by the Willet Company in downtown Chicago to make deliveries. The Willet is the predecessor to the Laidlaw Company which still is in the transportation business.

This is a great example of an original horse drawn delivery wagon. The wagon has nice iron work and tie down hooks on the sides of the flare boards to secure the load with rope. This wagon would deliver to the various businesses in the Chicago area. The Willet Company had been in business since 1868 and they were very reliable. They boasted on the back of the driver's seat that they are pollution free (no exhaust fumes).
